Extinction Media is a content studio creating podcasts, documentaries, and written work that illuminate the natural world and our relationship with it.

Founded in 2024 by media producer Travis Holland, we develop original content that bridges science communication, environmental storytelling, and cultural analysis. Our projects range from podcasts about palaeontology to documentary shorts celebrating regional Australian expertise.

Our approach
We work with experts, researchers, and storytellers to create content that’s both rigorously researched and genuinely engaging. Whether exploring 100-million-year-old fossils or contemporary media landscapes, we’re committed to clarity, curiosity, and craftsmanship.

Wiradjuri Country

Extinction Media was established on and primarily operates from the lands of the Wiradjuri people of central western NSW. We acknowledge the Wiradjuri as the traditional owners of the land.

Why Extinction?

The name “Extinction Media” reflects our interest in stories of loss, change, and resilience—from extinct species to disappearing landscapes to transforming media ecosystems. We’re drawn to subjects that might otherwise fade from attention.
